What is a Balanced Meal?
- There are a few RULES to follow when planning a meal. They are easy if you remember to take both hands with you everywhere you go.
- Always eat within one hour of getting up in the morning. This gives your body a jump start on the day's activities.
- Always have a protein along with a carbohydrate. Add a fat.
- Make sure your PROTEIN portion is the size of the palm of your hand.
- Make sure your VEGETABLE AND FRUIT PORTION is the size of both hands.
- If you want to eat a mighty cautious carbohydrate, make sure it is the same size as your protein portion.
- Add some monounsaturated FAT.
