Why Choose Pharmaceutical Grade Fish Oil?
Health food grade fish oil is molecularly distilled to the 10,000th to remove impurities. However, Nature's Mighty 3s™ is distilled to the 3,000,000th. This is to insure that we remove the PCB's, mercury and other impurities. If it needs to be distilled to such a high level, it indicates that the health food store grade fish oil is not as pure. This is why so many say they "burp" up the fish oil. What your are reacting to are the impurites.
Two factors contribute to the dosage of Omega-3 EPA and DHA : 1) the serving size and 2) the concentration of the oil. The higher the concentration, the smaller the serving size required to provide an equal quantity of Omega-3 EPA and DHA. For example, on the label of a health food grade lemon flavored fish oil, the dosage is one teaspoon (roughly equal to about 5 ml or 5000 mg of fish oil). They also claim that the amount of EPA in a teaspoon is 800 mg (or about 16% --- 800mg EPA/ 5000mg oil) and DHA is 500 mg (or about 10%, 500mg DHA / 5000mg oil). Therefore, we can say with certainty that the oil in this product is an 18/12 oil and not a concentrate of 40/20 like Nature's Mighty 3s™. Since Nature's Mighty 3s ™ is twice as concentrated, it only takes 1/2 teaspoon to equal the same amount.
